Why 1,000 is such a common target

There are two reasons, one about perception and one about TikTok itself.

Perception first. People sort accounts into rough bands without thinking about it: tens of followers looks personal, hundreds looks small, and four figures looks like an account other people have chosen to follow. Crossing into 1,0xx moves you up a band.

Then there’s TikTok LIVE. For years the standard requirement to go LIVE has been 1,000 followers plus being 18 or over, and many people hear “1,000” and think of that. Three examples

An account at 150 followers

1,000 would take it to about 1,150, more than seven times where it is. That’s convincing only if the account already has a good number of videos and some recent activity. With fewer than ten videos, 500 now and another 500 in a couple of weeks reads more naturally, for about $4 extra in total.

An account at 600 followers

The obvious fit. You land around 1,600, safely into four figures with room for a little drop-off. 500 would leave you at about 1,100, close enough to the line that a small clean-up could pull you back under.

An account at 3,000 followers

Here 1,000 is a top-up, a third more. Perfectly reasonable before a launch or a collaboration pitch. If you want a bigger change at this size, look at the 5,000 package.

How long it takes

About “followers who engage”

What the profile should look like first

A thousand followers above an empty grid is the pattern that looks most bought. Before ordering, aim for:

• At least eight to ten videos, with something posted in the last week.
• A pinned video that shows what the account is about. TikTok lets you pin up to three.
• A bio that does a job. Up to 80 characters: what you post, who it’s for, maybe a reason to follow.
• A recognisable photo, ideally the same one you use elsewhere so people know it’s you.

Mistakes to avoid at this size

• Overshooting a tiny account. Under about 150 followers with a handful of videos, 500 is gentler.
• Buying to unlock LIVE with no viewers. Crossing 1,000 can give you the LIVE option, but nobody bought will watch. Have a few hundred real viewers first.
• Ignoring drops. If you land at 1,020 and a clean-up removes 40, you’re back under. Claim the refill, or aim a little higher in the first place.
• Pairing it with a quiet period. The week of the order is the week to post more, not less.
